We sponsored five wheel chairs to 5 needy and disabled people from the Kegalle area in Sri Lanka. This request to donate 5 wheel chairs amounting to a total of 500 CHF was made to us by the International Buddhist Foundation (IBF) Chief incumbent, Ven Halyale Wimalarathana Thero whilst Mrs.Udiyanee Unantenne a member of SLAG EXCO personally coordinated the project in Sri Lanka.
‘In kind’ donation to St. Jean Association –
We also made an ‘in- kind’ donation of 100 ‘cutlets’ to St. Jean Association as a reciprocal gesture for giving us the hall for ‘dancing’ practices for the New Year event, each year free of charge. They also at times give the use of their kitchen when requested by SLAG. We would like to thank three of our members, namely Geethani Kumarasinghe, Chamila Rajaratne and Nayani Karunajeewa for helping with this donation.
