The Sri Lankan Association of Geneva (SLAG) is delighted to invite members and friends of the Sri Lankan community to celebrate the Sri Lankan New Year (Avurudu) 2026 together in Geneva.
Avurudu is one of the most cherished cultural festivals in Sri Lanka, symbolizing renewal, harmony, and togetherness. It is a time when families and communities come together to celebrate traditions, share meals, and strengthen bonds.
This year, SLAG is proud to organize a vibrant and family-friendly celebration that will bring the spirit of Avurudu to Geneva. The event will feature a rich programme of traditional games, cultural performances, and festive activities for both children and adults.
Participants will also enjoy a delicious Sri Lankan buffet, including traditional Avurudu sweets and dishes that reflect the unique flavours of Sri Lankan cuisine.
